COVID-19 and CPM

The UK entered its first lockdown in March 2020 and as our industry temporarily closed its doors and the West End went dark; CPM made an easy decision, to be there for our clients.

We chose not to furlough and to continue fighting for our clients to be seen for whatever jobs were left in the industry. The biggest impact was felt by our clients who have had little to no experience in TV and Film. Without theatre, they would have to adapt to survive.

As our income dropped dramatically, we chose to stop agent wages and use what money was left in the agency to support our clients. We did this by booking and organising a series of industry workshops including:

Natalie Gallacher – Pippa Ailion Casting
Robert Icke – Olivier Award-Winning Director
James Pearson – Pearson Casting
Tree Petts – Tree Petts Casting
Oliver Lansley – Artistic Director of Les Enfants Terribles
Adam Rowe – Musical Director of Wicked
Katherine Johnson-Miller – Mental Health Workshop
Olivia Jacobs – Tall Stories
Ian Good – Director
Steph Parry – West End Actress

Most importantly we have ensured constant communication with our clients, keeping them fully up to date, checking in and being that much-needed ear when things have become difficult. We have held regular zoom sessions with all clients and even some online social events.

Recently we have created Self Tape Club for clients that wish to improve their self tape game. Every week we set a new task, it could be a commercial audition, a screen audition or even a theatre audition. Self-taping is here to stay and we want to make sure that our clients are ready and prepared with the skills they need.

However long it takes for the industry to fully return, CPM are here to support our clients.
